I think 0Kazuya's entry is really sweet [link], I especially like the girl's expression. There are just too many good entries!!!

I love how Thepoorcornelia put this illustration into words, "Being so young and being thrust into such an adult role for the good of many, she has a lot to bear on her young shoulders. So I really like the concept you juggled about her viewing herself before the wedding, and the idea that make-up helps her feel or look older. "

Well, so the scanner I am currently using overexposes everything (makes it lighter) (that's why her skin is so white!), not to mention the hair was already a lighter brown than it should be because my dark brown markers are dead :cry: I'm sorry the colors aren't right!!!

When I started I imagined she was looking in the mirror before her wedding, but realized that doesn't really work because she's already wearing the ring ^^; Now I think it looks more like her photo in a picture frame, but it can be whatever you want to think :nod:

In respect to her age (she's fourteen), She doesn't look that young, however make up can make people look considerably older (when I saw photos of girls from my brother's middle school dances, they looked like they were at least my age - I'm in college...) (this is why I left her arm slightly pudgy, fingers slightly shorter, and gave her a slightly wider face).

Her clothing is some combination of Victorian England and fantasy, while her hair is in some sort of fancy wedding up do (which was inspired by her usual hair style).

As for doing a couple piece... I really had no idea what to draw them doing together so... (and I had already sketched this, which I rather liked)

I'll catch up with comments and everything next week; I finally finished applying to study abroad in France for the next school year Friday (more or less...), now I have to do all of my school work I had been neglecting...

I really would like to have the circular bead-like parts on the left of the hair accessory. They could be used for so many things!

I was really excited to try drawing a butterfly when I realized I had only ever tried drawing flowers in this style. It was a lot of fun!

The way you drew the tulips in [link] in the bottom frame is beautiful! I've tried doing that several times, but have given up after the second flower ^^;
